Someone spent some time digging through their old hard drives and/or floppy discs to find this gem. 2001 was when Kanye was really starting to get his name known, being featured as a producer during that time on heavyweight albums like Jay-Z’s The Blueprint and Scarface’s The Fix. This is way before the leather sweatpants and yeti apparel. There are a few tracks you might recognize based off of the name, but these of course are very raw and very dated. A triple disc from Saudi Money on this lovely Saturday. There’s been talk of his 006 debut, but that has been put off indefinitely. Philly’s own has recently taken his persona of Saudi Money to the next level, really fune-tuning the “luxury trap” style that he has curated into his own. In an excellent choice on Vizzy’s part, the Kansas based MC decides to re-release his 4 mixtapes in their remastered, No DJ form. Each of the four tapes even has an unreleased track that didn’t make it onto the final cuts of the projects. Although admittedly I haven’t really checked out his first two tapes, but Zero Heroes remains one of my favorite projects of all time.
